As for me, I’m someone who absolutely goes wild for chicken. If it has chicken in it, I have to try it. Chicken is just one of those fail-proof ingredients—always delicious in my book.

Not to mention, this collab is with “Mexican Chicken,” a franchise better known for its seasoned fried chicken. That adds a sense of trust and raises my anticipation. It’s not just a branding deal—this crispy coating paired with their signature dipping sauce really brings that original Mexican Chicken flavor to life.

🍗 맛과 식감

먼저 크리스피 순살은 튀김옷이 얇고 바삭해서 한입 베어 물 때 식감이 좋았어요. 양념 순살은 전통 양념통닭 스타일의 단짠 조합이 확 살아있고, 허니버터 순살은 달콤하면서도 고소한 맛이 교촌 허니콤보 같은 느낌이더라고요. 8조각이 들어 있었는데 컵에 담기는 크기에 따라 개수는 차이가 있어보여요. (맛있어서 다음날 한 번 더 사먹었는데, 개수가 한개 적었거든요.)  양념은 살짝 매콤한 감칠맛이 남고, 순살이라 먹기 편해요.
 

우선 후라이드를 소개하면 금방 튀겨서 나온 치킨은 역시 맛없을 수 없죠? 매장에 튀김기가 있어 손님이 주문하면 바로 기름에 열 올리고 바로 튀겨주는 방식이더라구요. 우선 내가 가려는 가까운 매장에 있는지 없는지부터 확인해주시고, 방문하셔야 해요. 이게 매장마다 가지 있는게 아니다보니 꼭 확인하셔야해요.
 
전 매장에 도착해서 주문을 하니 10분 정도 기다리라고 했어요. 기름 올리고 달궈지면 금방 튀겨 주겠다고 하셔서, 또 방금 튀긴게 맛있으니 그러겠다고 했어요. 역시나 방금 나온 치킨을 이길 수 있는 음식은 없을 것 같아요. 
 
 
🍗 Taste & Texture The crispy boneless chicken had a thin, crunchy coating with a satisfying texture when you bite in. The seasoned one was packed with that sweet-savory combo you get in classic Korean fried chicken, and the honey butter flavor reminded me of the sweet-salty profile of Kyochon’s Honey Combo. Each cup had about 8 pieces, though the number varied a bit depending on the container size. (I bought it again the next day and got one less piece—still tasty though!) The seasoning had a subtle spicy umami, and the boneless cut made it super convenient to eat.

For the crispy chicken, it's freshly fried to order in-store. They actually heat the fryer once you order, so be sure your nearby location has this item available. Not every GS25 has the fryer setup, so double-check first.

At the store, I was told to wait 10 minutes. They preheated the oil and fried the chicken right then, and as expected, fresh-out-of-the-fryer chicken is unbeatable.

순살 3종은 200g 한 컵에 3,900원, 닭다리는 2,900원이에요. 한 컵당 6~7조각 정도 들어 있어서 양도 푸짐하고, 가격 대비 만족도가 높습니다. 편의점 치킨치고는 “역시 가성비 좋다”는 반응이 많아요. 맥주 한 캔에 어울리는 양으로 한마리 시켜 먹는 것 보단 훨씬 좋은 방법이었어요. 
 
원래 CU치킨을 많이 먹었어요. 꼬치로 먹으면 그것도 나름 가성비 있거든요. 하지만 이번에 멕시칸 순살 치킨은 넉넉한 양에 맛까지 좋아서 너무 좋았어요. 소스도 주는데 이게 킥이죠.
